Motivational Interviewing and Behaviour Change Techniques Masterclass

This masterclass introduces you to motivational interviewing and behaviour change techniques to apply in practice to facilitate change in health related behaviours.

 
 

Course overview

Building on existing knowledge, you develop skills relating to engaging with clients with the aim of changing health related behaviours. This approach underpins all aspects of public health work.

Masterclass content includes:

  • Making Every Contact Count (MECC)
  • Health related behaviour change including readiness to change
  • Motivational interviewing approaches including techniques on how to initiate and facilitate a brief intervention. This is a one day masterclass incorporating online virtual teaching and some self directed study. There will be an online virtual simulation exercise which will promote the application of theory to practice.

Funding: funded places may be available. Please liaise with your organisation for funding opportunities.

Self-funded: to access this on a self-funding basis you must pay the fee before the start of the masterclass using the online shop.
