It is delivered within the first year of the BSc (Hons) Integrated Care Studies programme or as an independent University Certificate in Continuing Education.

What you study

The study of human factors and ergonomics in relation to providing safe and efficient practice within healthcare organisations has gained increasing importance within all facets of healthcare provision. This content of this award reflects contemporary issues in human factors and its impact on patient care.

How you learn

We help develop your knowledge through a variety of methods including lectures, seminars, e-resources, experiential learning including simulation and case studies. We provide a virtual learning environment to support you.

How you are assessed

The summative assessment is a 4,000-word written case report submitted in Week 15.
