What you study
The award’s content fully complies with the Royal College of Emergency Medicine’s level two shock competency.
How you learn
Teaching takes place over a two-day study block in November, including a mix of keynote lectures, practical workshops and case study discussions. You complete a course of structured, resource based e-learning on e-learning@tees. There is a finishing school in July. Your first day of finishing school consists of individual and small group practical workshops and seminars, where you consolidate all your practical skills and theoretical knowledge. During the second day you perform your final triggered assessment.
The award is summatively assessed in two parts:
- a written case study
- a final triggered assessment.

You must already have a PgC in Medical Ultrasound and a clinical placement to engage with this module.
