This module supports you to explore what social work is and the different types of team a social worker can work within.

Course overview

It will introduce some of the key themes, ideas and approaches that are central to contemporary social work practice, such as risk and ethical practice. There will be an introduction to the key terms and discussion of the importance of law, policy and guidance to daily practice. The module will begin to explore the profession’s core tasks of assessment, planning, interventions and reviews.

Your learning is supported through our purpose-built, online learning environment. You have access to a wealth of learning materials that have been designed and developed by staff embedded in the field of social work. Throughout your learning journey you are supported by experienced staff who provide advice and guidance.

All applicants under the age of 18 at the time of enrolment must provide a completed parental consent form and those under 16 years of age are required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Entry requirements

As this is an online course you need access to a computer and be comfortable learning through an online platform.

International applicants must have an IELTS overall score of 5.5 or higher.
