2D and Stop Motion Animation

Over the course of two days you’ll take part in practical workshops designed to introduce you to the magic of stop motion using example animations and demonstrations to produce your very own stop motion film. Using the same techniques we teach to our award-winning animators, this is an animated adventure you’ll never forget. We’ll also talk you through the careers and job roles open to you as an animator, and how our courses give you the knowledge and skills to succeed.

Business and Enterprise

Get hands-on with the business world by using creativity and teamwork to overcome some of the most challenging problems facing the 21st century. Delivered by entrepreneurs with a wealth of specialist knowledge around sustainability, Michael Weeks and Lianne Bell guide you through this practical session to create a genuine, viable business idea, linked directly to one of your chosen problems. We give you the tools and inspiration to get enthused about the incredible Teesside University International Business School. Whether you’re a budding entrepreneur or simply interested in getting involved with all things business, this is the programme for you!

Learning Disabilities Nursing

These hands-on sessions introduce you to clinical procedures such as injection technique, venepuncture and wound care, and you’ll consider the typical practical and problem-solving skills associated with common learning disability nursing, including positive behaviour support and conflict resolution. You'll also consider multi-sensory patient needs, exploring nutritional, hydration, sensory and communication needs. If you have a passion for caring and want to discover what it takes to be a learning disabilities nurse, this session is a great opportunity to find out more!

Experience the excitement of working in a photography studio, using lighting techniques to create experimental portraits based on the work of an artist who inspires you. In our digital classroom, using bookmaking techniques and our industry standard professional printer, you create your own narrative through a mini book or zine to keep and take home with you.

Delve into the theory, methods and application of psychology by taking part in a range of hands-on, practical sessions. We focus on the brain, behaviour and mental processes. We take a look at the basics of game theory and how this affects cognitive processes. And finally you experience what it’s like to be a forensic psychologist in our replica court room and crime scene house. You will leave this session inspired to become a psychologist!
