Support for you

We pride ourselves on being there for you with a great support network.

Yes of course we’ve got great rooms, good rents, fast Wi-Fi, and everything else you get for your rent, but alongside that you have the support of the University:

Important for you to know before you arrive

We want you to have the best experience in your University home and we will do all we can to support you. Your health and wellbeing is a priority and, in the current coronavirus pandemic, we want you to know about the measures we have taken to keep you safe in University accommodation. We have:

  • Changed our arrivals process to make sure we reduce the number of people gathering and to allow you to have more flexibility when you arrive.
  • Reduced the number of rooms in all houses and apartments to a maximum of 5 so you can form small households.
  • Increased the level of cleaning in your hall or house.
  • Implemented easy to follow signage in your house and home.
  • Developed guidance for when you arrive around COVID-19.
  • Put support measures in place if you have any concerns or issues.
  • Ensured you will be kept up to date with any changes in your halls.
  • Put measures in place for all our maintenance and cleaning staff to have appropriate PPE and adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Please be assured that the safety of our University community is at the forefront of everything we do.

Accommodation team

Talk to us if you have any issue with your University accommodation. We also want to hear your suggestions on how we can make your time with us even better. You can e-mail us at accommodation@tees.ac.uk

Warden network

You have a team of wardens living in your halls can offer you support when the accommodation team aren’t about. They are students too and they are on duty from 7.00pm each evening through to 6.00am the following morning. There’s someone on duty all weekend too, even during the day. They can help with any query you may have – if you’ve locked yourself out of the room they can let you in, they help with fire alarms to make sure everyone leaves the building, and lots more. If you feel you need to chat with someone, the wardens are there.

Security team

We have on campus security 24/7. They can offer support if you need to speak to someone about security, and work closely with the accommodation and warden teams to make sure your time on campus is a great one.

SafeZone app

Our free SafeZone app is a great way to let us know if you need some assistance on campus.

Halls Facebook pages

When you sign up to stay with us in University accommodation we send you a link to join your halls Facebook page. It’s a great way of connecting with other students who are coming into your hall or house before you arrive, so when you get here you’ve already started to build up links with the other students living in your halls.

Onsite maintenance team

This team can sort out any issues you may be having with your hall. We also have emergency 24-hour call-out repair people to make sure we deal with emergencies out of hours. If you have an issue to report in your halls, just let us know. It’s easy to do, just email accommodation@tees.ac.uk or go on your accommodation portal and report it that way.

Online information

Check out the FAQs about your accommodation, we may be able to answer your query there.

Your post room

We have an on-site post room where you can have your mail and parcels delivered to. There’s no need to go to a post office. We’ve also got an Amazon Locker on campus called Sapphire.
