About this scholarship
You may be eligible for £2,000 towards your accommodation fees if you live outside the TS postcode and are joining the first year of an eligible course.
Eligibility
To apply for one of these scholarships you must:
- be from the UK and live outside of the TS postcode area
- have applied, and have accepted an offer for one of the following Teesside University main campus courses:
BA (Hons) 2D Animation and Stop Motion
BA (Hons) Animation
MEng (Hons) Aerospace Engineering
BEng (Hons) Chemical Engineering
MEng (Hons) Chemical Engineering
MEng (Hons) Civil Engineering
BSc (Hons) Computer and Digital Forensics
BSc (Hons) Games Programming
BEng (Hons) Instrumentation and Control Engineering
MEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering
BSc (Hons) Software Engineering
BA (Hons) Visual Effects and Motion Graphics - accept your course offer and apply for accommodation by 30 August 2026 and go on to enrol on your course.
You are given 2 weeks after being offered your accommodation to accept and pay a deposit. At this point, the University will confirm that you will receive the accommodation award based on meeting criteria above.
You are not eligible if:
- you are an applicant applying for Year 0, direct second year entry or for a top-up degree
- following accepting your offer, you subsequently transfer onto another course at Teesside University
- you withdraw from your course during your studies- you will no longer be eligible to remain in University accommodation and your accommodation discount will end on the date you withdraw
- you defer your start date to a future year of entry
- you’re applying to study a Teesside University online learning course or a degree apprenticeship.
Teesside University offers a fixed number of Accommodation Awards and is subject to availability. Accommodation Awards will be offered on a first come first served basis to students who meet the eligibility criteria.
Teesside University reserves the right to terminate an award and recover any payments made in the event an applicant fails to continue to meet the eligibility criteria for the award. If you withdraw or suspend your studies, then you may be required to repay part or all your scholarship depending on the date that you leave the University.
How to apply
You do not need to apply. You are sent a link to apply for accommodation once you accept your offer to study at Teesside University. When you enrol on an eligible course, your discount is automatically applied to your invoice.
Awards are made at the discretion of the Scholarships Panel, who may consider your financial background, prior academic performance, as well as other information provided through your application and at any subsequent interview.
