Sports concepts could net huge cash prize

11 June 2008

Innovative students could get their hands on a £5,000 cash prize if they come out on top in a new competition.

The hunt is now on to find the most innovative sports concepts designed by students.

Open to all final year undergraduates and postgraduates from UK universities, the Gatsby Innovation Awards for Student Entrepreneurs is a brand new initiative which seeks to find groundbreaking sports concepts developed by students.

So, how does it work?

  • four finalists will be chosen to attend an intensive innovation workshop
  • they will receive mentoring from experts to develop novel sports concepts for major brands
  • the finalists will be given advice on protecting ideas and business planning
  • the awards event is in July, with a top prize of £5,000

Any stage of innovative novel sports technology will be considered, but the deadline for entrants is Friday 27 June.
