Fifth graduation in Darlington

It was the fifth annual graduation held in the town and the first since Teesside University opened its £13m campus in Darlington, next to Darlington College.

Attending the ceremony were Teesside University’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Partnerships & Standards) Professor Caroline MacDonald, Darlington College’s Principal Tim Grant, Darlington’s Mayor Councillor Lee Vasey, Alastair MacColl, Deputy Chairman of the University’s Board of Governors and senior members of the University, Darlington College and Darlington Council.

Professor MacDonald said, ‘We are soon to have two high-profile visitors to our new campus. I’m looking forward to being able to telling them both about our plans for higher education in the town.’

Darlington Mayor Lee Vasey said, ‘There’s a very palpable excitement now that the new Teesside University building is completed. It is an emblem of the town’s future and shows the confidence of the University’s investment in our community to help it flourish and grow.’
