Open research is about making research more transparent, accessible and collaborative. While often associated with science and data-intensive disciplines, open research principles can benefit researchers across the arts, humanities, social sciences, health, business and STEM subjects.
This 30 minute session provides an overview of open research and explores how open practices can support your work throughout the doctoral journey. We'll discuss topics including transparency, collaboration, research visibility, responsible sharing and research communication. You'll also be introduced to a range of tools, platforms and communities that support open research, including ORCID, Open Science Framework (OSF), Octopus, Zenodo and Figshare.
Whether you're working with archival sources, interviews, creative outputs, literature, policy research, laboratory methods or quantitative data, this session will help you understand how open research can be applied within your discipline and identify practical ways to make your research more visible, connected and impactful.
