Finding the right literature is a key part of successful doctoral research but where do you start? This 30-minute introductory workshop will help you navigate the wide range of library resources available at Teesside University and develop the skills needed to search for academic information effectively and confidently.
We'll explore how to use Discovery to find books, journal articles, theses, and other research materials, as well as introduce the academic databases most relevant to your area of study. You'll learn practical techniques for developing effective search strategies, refining your results, and keeping up to date with the latest developments in your field.
We'll also look at how to access material beyond Teesside University's collections through Open Access (OA) resources and our Inter Library Loan (ILL) service, helping you discover and obtain research that may not be immediately available through Discovery.
This session will provide a strong foundation for exploring the evidence that supports your research and help you make the most of the resources available to you throughout your journey at Teesside.
