MA history programmes are taught by a highly committed team, involved in cutting-edge work in research-informed teaching. Consequently there is an exceptional level of student engagement and achievement in the programme. External projects enhance the curriculum, whilst the Centre for Regional and Local Historical Research provides links and networking opportunities with the community and employers.

First-class facilities

The Library has an impressive collection of relevant material which is continually renewed. You'll have access to the internet, CD-ROMs and electronic databases through the Library's 400 workstations. The history subject group also has access to the Northern Region Film and Television Archive and a comprehensive Green Archive. Postgraduate study in history provides opportunities to work directly with archival material located in museums, county archives, and historic houses and landscapes.
