Irrespective of what subject you studied for your undergraduate degree or if you have been out of education for a while, these postgraduate courses are an opportunity for you to gain the additional knowledge and skills that you need to change direction or pursue a new career.

Our conversion courses

The courses listed below accept applications from graduates with an undergraduate degree in a wide range of disciplines. Other eligibility criteria may apply, see course entry requirements.

Accounting and Finance, MSc

Accounting and finance are central to managing organisations effectively. This course integrates accounting, leadership and change, and gives you a practical insight into developing the discipline. It also provides you with a firm knowledge of accounting and finance and the adaptability needed in a rapidly changing environment.

 

Advanced Home Futures, MSc

The MSc Advanced Home Futures course is designed to revolutionise the building and construction of houses and homes. It was developed adhering closely to TV architect George Clarke’s MOBIE modular building concept and advanced home construction principles.

 

Applied Artificial Intelligence, MSc

Artificial intelligence (AI) enables a digital computer or computer-controlled robot to learn, reason, discover meaning and perform tasks commonly associated with intelligent beings. AI applications include gaming, medical diagnosis, computer search engines, and voice or handwriting recognition.

 

Applied Data Science, MSc

Data scientists are responsible for the handling of raw data, analysing it, identifying patterns and presenting insights in a manner that is useful for forecasting and predicting business problems. The data science field uses mathematics, statistics, machine learning, a range of computer science disciplines and a common toolset such as Python, SQL, and R.

 

Digital Marketing, MSc

Our MSc Digital Marketing gives you the skills and knowledge required to be successful in a range of digital marketing roles. Offering a flexible mode of delivery, the course covers strategic, creative and technical areas, giving you insight into the key aspects of digital marketing and allowing the opportunity to develop specialist knowledge through an industry-based research project.

IT Project Management, MSc

If you want to study a general project management master’s degree with an IT flavour, this is the course for you. It offers a range of project management skills useful in many subject areas, plus skills that are particularly useful in IT project management. Leadership and Coaching, MA

You develop the knowledge, skills and awareness to empower others to make an effective contribution to the leadership and management of your organisation. And the knowledge and ability to critically evaluate contemporary issues in business leadership and coaching.

 

Master of Public Health, MPH

This course facilitates the transfer of knowledge from academic public health to the practice environment by translating research findings into actions that can be understood and acted upon by practitioners and the public. It offers enhanced opportunities for students wishing to pursue studies in the academic and applied world of public health. The University is keen to share its vision by reaching out to students worldwide – either as attendees or distance learners with full support and interactive resources with experienced team members.

 

Occupational Therapy (Pre-registration), MSc

This course builds on your academic skills whilst helping you to develop the clinical competence to practice as a newly graduated occupational therapist. You explore the profession across the breadth of occupational therapy practice, experiencing a number of clinical and practice settings including a non-traditional context. In addition to intervention strategies you gain experience in applying sound clinical reasoning and learn something of the professional role within multidisciplinary and multiagency practice.

 

Project Management, MSc

Project management processes are about implementing methodologies, knowledge, skills and techniques to successfully accomplish projects in an efficient and effective manner. This course develops these competencies required by project managers in the modern engineering, manufacturing, construction, telecom, process, oil and gas industries.

 

Psychology, MSc

Our MSc Psychology is designed to enable graduates from disciplines other than psychology to develop subject-specific knowledge and the practical and professional skills related to the discipline as well as further developing your general transferable cognitive, intellectual and academic skills.

 

Social Work, MA

This course provides you with the skills and knowledge to meet the challenges and developments in the social work environment. All students participate in the same core curriculum so that you are equipped to undertake any role suitable for a newly-qualified social worker.

 

Our postgraduate conversion courses in nursing require 500 hours clinical experience in addition to an undergraduate degree in any subject.

Nursing Studies (Adult) Pre-registration, MSc

As an adult nurse you are an important member of a multi-professional team, working in partnership with families and carers of those experiencing acute and long-term physical illness and/or disabilities. You are in a unique and privileged position and play a key role in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the wide-ranging care needs of vulnerable people and their families. This requires hard work, commitment and excellent interpersonal skills.

 

Nursing Studies (Child) Pre-registration, MSc

Children’s nursing involves the care of premature babies, infants, children, young people and their families. As a children’s nurse you are an important member of a multi-professional team, working in partnership with parents and carers, healthy children and those experiencing acute and long-term physical and mental illness and/or disabilities. You are in a unique and privileged position and you play a key role in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the wide-ranging care needs of vulnerable children and their families. This requires hard work, commitment and excellent interpersonal skills.

 

Nursing Studies (Learning Disabilities) Pre-registration, MSc

As a learning disabilities nurse you are an important member of a multi-professional team working in partnership with people with a learning disability and/or autism, family, relatives and carers with a range of complex needs. You are in a unique and privileged position and play a key role in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the wide-ranging care needs of people with a learning disability and their families. This requires hard work, commitment and excellent interpersonal skills.

 

Nursing Studies (Mental Health) Pre-registration, MSc

Mental health nursing involves the care of people experiencing mental health problems and their families. As a mental health nurse you become an important member of a multi-professional team working in partnership with adults and children experiencing mental health problems, and their families and carers with a range of complex needs.
