These research opportunities are offered on a competitive basis and cover all fees associated with full-time PhD study for up to four years. Applications are welcome from strong UK and international students. You must have an appropriate visa and access to sufficient living expenses to successfully undertake the PhD on this basis - for example through other funding mechanisms such as government sponsorship or self-funding.

The University currently participates in a number of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) programmes. These programmes are open to UK and international students. If you are a UK student who has been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least three years, you can apply for a full award comprising full tuition fees, a stipend to cover living expenses at UKRI rates and access to the Research Training Support Grant held by the DTP to which you may apply for additional support to cover specific expenses associated with the programme.
