Psychology

Psychology is the study of human behaviour. With our state-of-the-art facilities, studying psychology develops your practical skills as well as your theoretical understanding. You can study what interests you – whether counselling or cognition, forensic or health.

Our strong links with professional organisations provide excellent opportunities for you to gain relevant voluntary work experience while you study. Innovative assessments develop your ability to communicate specialist knowledge to a professional audience. At Teesside we are committed to providing a stimulating and supportive environment. Feedback from the National Student Survey praises staff enthusiasm for the subject, our ability to explain things, and our student-centred approaches to teaching and learning.

Our modules are supported by electronic materials and we use a variety of techniques to ensure your learning is exciting, challenging and interesting. We work individually with you to improve your confidence, develop your skills and enhance your employability.

Psychology facilities

Studying Psychology at the School of Social Sciences, Business & Law gives you access to outstanding facilities, including eye-trackers, EEG and Near-infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS). You also get to use specialist interviewing labs and our replica courtroom.
