Course overview
This module explores the organisations that make up the aviation industry, its scale and the diverse nature of airlines and airports and how their varied services serve different markets.
Summer university
Start date: Starts Monday 1 June, Mondays and Wednesdays for 4 weeks, 6-9pm
Applications open early April.
You can study up to 30 credits at Summer University and you can select up to three modules on the same application form. If you would like to add a module later, or change one of your choices, then please email summer.university@tees.ac.uk.

What you study
• Scale of the UK aviation industry (Passenger growth, CAA statistics)
• Major changes and trends
• Airline and Airport revenue streams
• Types of commercial airline
• Operating characteristics
• UK airport characteristics
• General aviation
• Regulator bodies
This course will also include a visit to a local airport.
How you are assessed
Students will write a 1500 individual report through which they will demonstrate an understanding of the UK aviation industry, its scale and operational and departmental functions.
