This course provides you with an insight into the core academic skills needed to help future study at University level. It encourages you to identify and develop relevant skills in areas such as using academic research, academic writing, effective learning strategies and presentation skills.
Each session will include pre-recorded lectures, a live interactive session with the tutor and asynchronous activities related to the session. It is expected that students will interact with brief presentations of some of those activities. Tutor support will be available during the specified weekly times.

You can study up to 30 credits at Summer University and you can select up to three modules on the same application form. If you would like to add a module later, or change one of your choices, then please email summer.university@tees.ac.uk.

Each week you will be tasked with completing a reflective blog, which will form a portfolio alongside a 1,500 word assignment.
As this is an online course it is necessary that you have access to a computer and that you are comfortable learning via an online platform. A strong and stable internet connection is required, and a webcam and microphone will allow you to participate in any interactive elements of the course.
International applicants must have an IELTS overall score of 5.5 or higher.
