Course overview
The roles and responsibilities of managers are increasingly demanding with managers being expected to take on a variety of tasks in a constantly changing world.
This course concentrates on the key skills needed by managers in order to effectively manage their workforce. You look at the role of a manager, key human resource management processes, effective communication, and managing performance and change.
Summer university
Start date: Starts Monday 1 June, Mondays and Wednesdays for 4 weeks, 6-9pm
Applications open early April.
You can study up to 30 credits at Summer University and you can select up to three modules on the same application form. If you would like to add a module later, or change one of your choices, then please email summer.university@tees.ac.uk.

- change resistance and change management tools and techniques
- reflection and its application.
How you are assessed
You are given formative feedback through class-based case studies, discussion groups and other practical activities.
Your summative assessment is a 1,500 word assignment (100%). You produce a report on how you manage performance or manage change within your work role. This includes a 300 word piece of self reflection on your learning.
