Introduction to Digital Marketing

 

Course overview

Gain vital insights into the core principles, concepts and practical applications utilised within the fastest growing area of marketing; digital marketing. You engage with principles of marketing planning within a digital context, including a range of paid, earned and owned marketing channels and techniques.

You learn through a combination of live elements and pre-recorded material. Tutor support is available throughout the specified weekly times.

You can study up to 30 credits at Summer University and you can select up to three modules on the same application form. If you would like to add a module later, or change one of your choices, then please email summer.university@tees.ac.uk.

- evolution of marketing, including definitions and philosophy
- organisational environment
- marketing research and information
- customer insights - segmentation and targeting, introduction to consumer behaviour
- application of the marketing mix
- introduction to marketing in a range of contexts - services, B2B, PR, and digital marketing.

How you are assessed

By a 1,500 word digital marketing strategy proposal. You create a digital marketing strategy for an organisation of your choice or one of its products or services.

Your report is underpinned by applicable theory and course content to demonstrate digital marketing concept application.

 
 

Entry requirements

Entry requirements

As this is an online course you need access to a computer and be comfortable learning through an online platform. A strong and stable internet connection is required, and a webcam and microphone to participate in any interactive elements of the course.

International applicants must have an IELTS overall score of 5.5 or higher.
