Learn more about a subject that interests you, access facilities you would use as a student and experience what a university campus has to offer at our fully-funded residential.
I would really recommend going on the residential as you’ll learn about the variety of courses they have to offer and the different facilities available to enhance your learning. The social aspect of the residential is also amazing. Getting to meet new people, who are doing different things and chatting about their plans gives you something to think about. The staff are so lovely and accommodating, making sure they’re there for you while you are away from home. Overall, 10/10 experience and couldn’t recommend more.
My residential experience was instrumental in my choice to study Concept Art at Teesside. It gave me the opportunity to experience the University first hand and build lasting relationships that have continued to this day.
The residential fostered an environment where curiosity and innovation thrived. We were empowered to explore the world of engineering in hands-on, practical ways. For any girl considering a career in engineering, this residential is an amazing opportunity to ignite your passion, learn new skills, and build connections. It was an unforgettable experience!
I would recommend the science residential to anyone interested in carrying out further studies in this field. I truly enjoyed the residential, from being in the labs and doing hands-on practical’s, to experiencing uni life beyond the lectures. I also appreciated being able to chat to current students and ask them questions as they were super friendly and happy to answer anything
After attending 5 other residentials, this one was the best! I I developed so many skills including communication, team work, leadership and listening skills. I got to make connections, network and make friends. Thankyou Teesside University for this amazing opportunity!
I really enjoyed the diverse range of disciplines covered in the residential. I’m currently trying to decide which branch of engineering to follow, so having a taste of each was very useful. My favourite parts were the flight simulator and talking to the chemical engineer representative. As it was such a small, focussed group we were able to have an in-depth discussion that was very insightful. The social activities during the evenings allowed me to form surprisingly strong friendships with the girls in my group despite the short timeframe.
Probably the most fun I've ever had! There was an amazing mix of social and academic activities, giving me a real insight into what both these areas could look like at university. I took park in the law subject session, it was so engaging and helped me decide that this is definitely what I want to study at university. The staff and student ambassadors made it a very relaxed, welcoming and supportive environment. I came in really nervous and I came out confident and feeling like a completely different person!
This residential is such a good opportunity for young people to get out of their comfort zone and meet other like-minded students from around the UK. My favourite part were the social activities because they allowed me to break out of my bubble and see life in a different prospect. I would recommend this residential a million times over. If you don’t know anyone, don’t worry, you will meet so many new people and make new friends.
This trip was honestly one of the best I have been on. We created a really good friendship group and enjoyed fun social activities at Tees Barrage such as kayaking and high ropes. I would really recommend coming to the residential. It’s such a good Uni and they have great facilities for cyber security, the new digital building is also really cool.
This experience has motivated me to work harder to achieve my goals. I connected and had fun with like-minded people who I would never have met if I didn’t attend. Social activities were hands down the best part of the trip! The academic side of the residential allowed me to explore new ideas and techniques such as DNA stamping and biotechnology. It aligned with my A level studies and will help me in the future. Before the residential I had never explored Middlesbrough but it’s now a place of great memories and one to remember.
Everything about the residential was super fun, even the academic sessions, the student ambassador helpers were really friendly. The accommodation is really nice with a cool, independent feel to the whole flat sharing situation, I would definitely recommend the residentials to anyone wanting to go university or considering studying a biosciences course.
Teesside University was a 100/10 experience which I’d recommend to anyone. Through practical and engaging workshops, I got a proper insight into the subject I’m interested in. One of the most memorable moments was the quiz night and karaoke because everyone got involved and the energy was amazing. The campus is so cutting-edge, I really enjoyed exploring it. The student ambassadors were also down to earth and helpful. I left the residential feeling much more confident about going to university. Thank you!
As a parent I think it was a great opportunity for my daughter to get a taste of what life away from home could look like. The residential was well organised and the students were kept busy.
My son was made to feel welcome and safe from the moment he arrived. Everyone was kind and supportive, which helped him settle in and enjoy the experience. He had a great time taking part in the activities, especially the sessions around IT technology. It’s helped him feel more confident about his future and he's excited to explore his university options.
My son had a great time and made some lovely friends. The residential was fantastically well organised and proved to be an excellent taster of what life could be like at university.
As a parent, it’s important to me that my son gets to experience living away from home in preparation for his future studies. This residential stay gave him a valuable opportunity to explore university life, get a feel for the campus, and reflect on his academic goals. He came back with a clearer mindset, more confidence, and a stronger sense of independence. We truly appreciate the warm welcome and support provided by Teesside University. Thank you for offering such a meaningful experience that has helped my son grow both personally and academically.
I couldn't praise the residential highly enough. It was well planned, well organised and just excellent. They absolutely loved it, it has really helped them grow in confidence and they made friends that they have already met up with, from all around the country. It has also confirmed that they want to study psychology at university. Thank you so much for offering this opportunity to them.
