Get in the pink for charity

29 October 2008

Staff and students are urged to dress to impress on Friday by wearing pink to raise money for Breast Cancer Research UK.

Friday 31 October is national Wear it Pink day and you can get involved by dressing in pink in return for a small donation.

Our Pink People will be around campus all day to collect donations or, alternatively, you can drop into the Students’ Union to make a donation.

There will be prizes for the most outrageous and daring pink costumes of the day, but if extravagance is not your thing, a pink tie or shirt will be more than enough to show your support.

Collections will take place from 10.00am to 5.00pm around campus, but will continue into the night in the Students’ Union.

The Students’ Union will be holding events throughout the day, culminating in a waxing challenge in the Terrace Bar at 8.30pm. Some familiar male faces from around the University have agreed to have their legs waxed on stage and you can even pay £5 to wax a couple of strips yourself.

For more information, or if you would like to get involved, contact Nat Broom at n.broom@tees.ac.uk or Hazel Wright at h.wright@tees.ac.uk
