Lords acknowledge contribution of HSCI professor

HSCI professor Greg Atkinson has been acknowledged by the House of Lords for the evidence he provided to the Science and Technology Select Committee's report on sport and exercise science and medicine.

Greg's evidence included the formal frameworks he developed with Alan Batterham, also a professor at HSCI, for undertaking research in sport and exercise sciences.

Greg also referenced the publications of Professor Will Hopkins, who is an international visiting academic at Teesside. The report and evidence listing can be found at: Science-and-technology-committee

A top journal has also recognised Professor Atkinson's work.

A paper co-authored him, and published in ‘Clinical Endocrinology’, has been singled out as a ‘Research Highlight’ in the prestigious journal, ‘Nature Reviews: Endocrinology’. Greg is delighted by this recognition.
