Royal Academy of Engineering presidential visit

Academics from across the School of Science and Engineering and Technology Futures Institute welcomed a Royal Academy of Engineering presidential visit.

An overview of the varied research work being carried out at the University was presented to Professor Dame Anne Dowling, head of the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAE). The Royal Academy of Engineering is the UK's national academy for engineering, bringing together successful and talented engineers from across the engineering sectors for the shared purpose of advancing and promoting excellence in engineering. Teesside’s team presented the main outcomes of the IDEAS (Intelligent Neighbourhood Energy Allocation and Supervision) project to Professor Dame Dowling, along with Professor Richard Williams, RAE vice-president and Philip Greenish, RAC chief executive officer. The team presented on their varied research projects focusing on issues such as carbon reduction to smart systems and developing sustainable chemical technologies.
