Crisp Packet Project - helping the homeless with Nitelight
Thursday 5 February, 13:30 - 17:00
What you’ll do: You will be creating sleeping bags, blankets and other items to help keep the homeless and struggling individuals warm. These items are given out at Nitelight’s free market stalls to anyone who requests one.
How: This process involves taking empty crisp packets, cleaning them, overlapping the foil with other crisp packets and fusing them together using an iron and a sheet of special paper.
This is done repeatedly until you end up with the finished product.
This volunteering opportunity will suit anyone who enjoys arts and crafts, enjoys working in groups, or is just passionate about helping others.
Meet at the Student Life Building at 1.30pm. Transport will be provided to/ from the Nitelight centre in Southbank, arriving back on campus at 5pm.
