Achievements celebrated included the graduation of the very first cohort of undergraduates who started their studies at Teesside University London in September 2023, which included three games art graduates and one business management graduate.

Among them was BA (Hons) Games Art graduate Alisa Maletkovic, who was elected as course Valedictorian speaker and awarded a prize for Best Project.

Alisa said: “The tutors were very helpful, very hands-on and I always felt supported. Our University provided us with paid internships which meant we were able to work for two months with a real games company which was very helpful and a very strong asset on my CV. I learned so much during that time. It was a great opportunity.”

Oscar Pitt, who also graduated from the BA (Hons) Games Art, said: “The experience at Teesside University London has been great. We are the first undergraduate cohort to graduate, which is a great feeling.

“It was amazing to have such a tightly woven group of people and we got to work so closely with our lecturers. It feels good to graduate, but it will be sad to leave.”

All the undergraduate graduates completed an eight-week paid internship placement during their second year of study.

Professor Chrisina Jayne, Teesside University Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement & Partnerships), said: “We are immensely proud of all of our graduates, who have demonstrated incredible commitment to achieving academic success.

“Teesside University London continues to build an impressive network of connections and opportunities for collaboration with a diverse range of entrepreneurs, businesses, and the wider community.”

Professor Jayne was among speakers at the graduation ceremony, which also included Teesside University’s Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor Mark Simpson, along with Gavin Poole, CEO of Here East, where Teesside University London in based.
