Why Teesside University Online Learning?

I wanted to enhance my qualifications after studying my BA in tourism management 10 years ago. Because I work full time, I don’t have the ability to become a full time student so Teesside University Online Learning allowed me to study a full time qualification whilst working.

Why aviation management?

I’ve always found the industry interesting and after working in it for six years I want to improve my skills and progress.

What do you enjoy most about your course?

As I work in the industry, I enjoy that it overlaps with my work and I can apply my knowledge. I enjoyed the Leadership in Aviation module as I looked at the personality of a leader and explored personality tests and traits which was interesting and something I hadn’t studied before.

What have your tutors been like?

They have been excellent. They have been in contact and are very friendly and approachable and are always on hand to help with any questions as they’re just an email away.

Would you recommend Teesside University Online Learning?

Definitely. The content is easy to access, and the tutors are always quick to respond. I found studying at home from my laptop easy and if I ever had any IT issues, the team were very accessible to give me the assistance I needed.

What are your ambitions for the future?

I would like to further my responsibilities in my current role and become a mentor for new joiners. Later down the line I’d like to work for a regulatory body to impact decision making and procedures to shape and improve the future of aviation.

What advice would you give to someone thinking of studying with Teesside University Online Learning?

Go for it. It’s a great University with great support networks. Invest in your education and in your future.
