An informative opportunity for students considering psychology as an option in higher education. Join us for this practical session where you will explore A level topics with researchers in these fields,

Memory - What Can We Learn from Amnesic Patients about Memory
This talk will look at case studies of amnesic patients. Findings gained from these studies will be linked to existing theories of memory, and the contribution of patient studies to our general understanding of memory will be discussed. The talk will mainly focus on different kinds of long term memory.

Biopsychology - Love and Attraction
In her talk on biopsychology, Dr Eberhardt will talk about research on love and attraction to show how biopsychology is applied to explain these everyday phenomena. Dr Eberhardt will draw on evolutionary research into human mate preferences, brain function, and the role of hormones.

Dr Salayandia will talk about abnormal behaviour and mental illness including suspected causes and treatments of mental illness through history. He will also discuss the current state of mental illness/mental disorders and diagnosis, the effects on society, and the various fields/career paths in which a significant knowledge of psychopathology is required.

One other lecture to be confirmed.
