About | The Exciting World of Airlines and Airports

As demand for flights grows, we must innovate and collaborate to find solutions
to some of the problems the aeronautical industry faces. The aviation landscape within the UK is set to dramatically change as London Heathrow has been given the green light for its controversial third runway expansion. This will have a significant economic impact on regional airports making jobs in this sector sought after. This session is delivered by Beverley Boden, a senior lecturer of tourism and aviation and course leader for the BA (Hons) Airline and Airport Management (Top-up) degree.

On completion of this session, students will be
able to:
> identify the importance of aviation to the
global economy
> examine the principles of flight and the
importance of aviation safety on the brand
> analyse service levels and innovation in aviation
> assess the competitive nature of aviation.
