Redefining Menstrual Equity: Activism, Research, and Social Impact

Closing date for registrations: 02 March 12.00am

To mark International Women's Day, join us for a thought-provoking hybrid talk on menstrual equity, period stigma, and gender equality with two leading voices in the field: Vivi Lin, international period activist and founder of Taiwan’s world-first Period Museum, and Dr Maria Tomlinson, researcher and menstrual equity expert exploring the intersection of health communication, social media, and social inequalities.

Vivi will share her journey in advancing menstrual justice across Taiwan and Asia, from providing free menstrual products nationwide to creating inclusive education programs and emergency care initiatives.

Maria will discuss her research on how media and activism shape young people’s attitudes toward menstruation, highlighting strategies for effective, stigma-free communication.

The talk is open to students, academics and anyone interested in gender equality and social impact. The event can be attended in person or online.
