22 December 2009

Dr John Sentamu the Archbishop of York wished students and staff here at Teesside University a happy and peaceful Christmas.

Dr Sentamu became an honorary graduate of the University in November when he was awarded a doctorate of law.

He says: 'Being an Honorary Graduate of Teesside University means a great deal to me. I would like to wish all the students and staff a happy and peaceful Christmas.'

Dr Sentamu was appointed Archbishop of York in 2005 and is the Archbishop for the area in which Teesside University is located. He adds: 'May you have a time to relax, reflect on the past year and focus on the new year ahead. I hope that each of you return to this University ready to face fresh challenges.'
