25 February 2011

Teesside University remains one of the UK’s top two modern universities in the Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey 2010.

The University is ranked 31 in the national student survey, which ranks everything from teaching quality to social life. Teesside scored highly for: • having centralised/convenient facilities • a good library and library opening hours • high quality facilities • helpful interested staff • recommending the University to a friend.

Teesside University Vice-Chancellor Professor Graham Henderson said: 'It is really gratifying to see yet more evidence of the quality of student life here at Teesside. We set out to provide our students with the best possible experience and it is very encouraging to see that the environment we provide and the efforts of all of our staff continue to be recognised by our students. Committed to ensuring we are affordable and accessible in the future 'Teesside is committed to ensuring we are affordable and accessible in the future and we’re also looking forward to completion of the University’s Darlington campus this year, when we’re able to provide more higher education opportunities.'

Lori Wheatman, President of Teesside University Students’ Union said: 'It’s fantastic to see yet another compelling indicator of the excellent and ever improving student experience here at Teesside University.

'It’s clear that winning University Of The Year has only served to motivate the University and Students’ Union to keep striving for even higher standards right across the board as shown by this very high ranking.'
