Clearing next steps

You have a place through Clearing, what next?

  • To accept our Clearing offer, log on to UCAS Track, add Clearing choice.
  • Enter T20 for Teesside University and the relevant UCAS course code.
  • Check that UCAS Track updates to Unconditional Firm - usually within 24 hours.

Apply for accommodation

Our University halls and housing are all in a great central location so it's easy to get around the campus and into Middlesbrough town centre.

  • You must check UCAS Track has updated to Unconditional Firm before applying for accommodation. Keep an eye on your inbox. You are sent an email to the address on your UCAS application form with details of how to set up your University account and how to apply for accommodation.
  • After that we email your University account with a formal offer of your hall and room allocation.
  • You must accept or reject our accommodation offer within seven days. If accepting, you need to pay £150 deposit when you confirm your acceptance - the deposit is refundable if you don't take up your course place.
  • Select the accommodation deposit option. Continue through the pages to complete the process. Our accommodation office will automatically be informed when you have paid.

At Teesside University we have different types of accommodations to choose from - different options for different prices.

More about our accommodation

Before you come to university it's important to understand how much it will cost and what funding you will receive.

  • Full-time tuition fees - you pay £9,250 a year for full-time undergraduate degree course (including a foundation year) and £6,150 for a full-time foundation degree, HND and other qualifications below degree level. Find out what is and isn't included in your tuition fees here.
  • Tuition fee loan - if you have already applied you must remember to update your university and course details as soon as possible. If you haven't already, apply to the Student Loan Company for a tuition fee loan to cover the full cost of your fees each year.
  • Maintenance loan - as a full-time student you can apply to the Student Loan Company for a maintenance loan to help with your living costs (food, accommodation and travel) - the amount you're entitled to depends on your household income, where you live and where you study. After accepting your place, remember to update your student finance information or apply if you haven't already.
  • Teesside University Advance - you also receive an iPad installed with Office 365 software and University information, a keyboard and up to £300 credit to buy learning resources.

Other useful info

Wifi on campus
We have a campus wide wifi network, known as eduroam. To access eduroam all you need is a compatible mobile device and an active Teesside University student account. You type in your email address and your password.

A Teesside University smart card (TUSC) is your student ID card. It can get you into buildings, log you onto the printer to print things off and, if you enable it, you can use it around campus to make contactless payments and get 10% off the regular cash prices.
