Academic theory is explored through real world examples within a safe but challenging learning environment enabling you to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes you will need to succeed.
You learn through and with your peers and develop your knowledge and understanding through workshops, international field trips, live case studies and projects, simulations and action learning sets.
Our MBA equips you with the ability to adapt, demonstrate entrepreneurial thought, originality and insight, and apply knowledge to influence strategic decision-making, creativity and innovation in complex and unpredictable situations.
You explore topics including the sustainable organisation, entrepreneurial leadership, global strategy: challenges and choices, contemporary issues in business and society, and applied leadership practice.
You reflect on your professional practice and analyse your values and behaviours to develop as a responsible strategic leader, capable of thinking critically and creatively.
So if you're preparing for a career in the business and management arena or looking for the next step on the promotion ladder, this is the course for you.
As a proud signatory of the United Nations' Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) initiative, our MBA programmes have sustainability and responsible leadership embedded throughout all modules.

With the key challenges facing business today it is crucial that senior managers have the adaptability and flexibility to make crucial business decisions in a complex and ever changing dynamic business environment. The Teesside University International Business School MBA builds on the requirement for organisations to create leaders capable of delivering change with sustainable business growth. It addresses the crucial need for blending interdisciplinary skills with classic entrepreneurial capabilities and has a balanced and considered approach to developing 21st century senior leaders and managers capable of adapting to an ever changing social, technological and economic environment.
The MBA developed by Teesside University is very much welcomed, providing much needed balance between the need to act commercially and recognise the important role that business has to play in resolving the social issues that affect many of the communities they operate within
I think the Teesside MBA is a fantastic qualification for anyone to gain. It covers all the main skills and knowledge requirements that are needed to run successful businesses as well as giving an insight to other markets which are sometimes so hard to get. I very much like the fact it will take inspiration from the UN's sustainable development goals but in particular the fact that its content is based on what is happening at the time. Like any business, a course that can be dynamic and react to what is happening in the world is more likely to succeed than one that doesn't
Our experience working with Teesside University International Business School has been a seamless and positive one to say the least. Their flexible approach and willingness to adapt the programmes to suit the needs of an employer has been refreshing and one of the main reasons why we chose to use them.
Our apprentices have thoroughly enjoyed their experience so far. They are part of an extremely varied cohort and are able to share learning experiences across a wide range of sectors and professions. The course not only provides the academic development, but links their learning back into the workplace, which fundamentally adds more value to both the individual and the employer.
Teesside University International Business School has been a very accommodating provider, going to the lengths of holding a bridging week for our apprentices to prepare them for university life. These kind of activities are what separates Teesside University from other local providers - they represent a forward-thinking academic body that we are proud to associate ourselves with.
The MBA certainly gave me a great set of tools and contacts to help leverage my business success. It provided me with the platform to earn while I was learning and really reflect on my business experiences through a different lens, which in turn supported my knowledge acquisition and professional skills development. Balancing work with study was a challenge, but the student support available at Teesside University was outstanding and the flexible supportive approach of the staff made studying for an MBA whilst working an enjoyable experience. The teaching staff at Teesside University are high calibre. They inspired me to achieve the best results possible. I love the people and the culture of the region. I also really enjoyed the input from prominent business people from across a range of sectors and cultures. This again broadened my understanding and added a different perspective on a range of business areas. The blend of academic input and practical application was just what I wanted from an MBA.
The apprenticeship levy has meant that businesses are looking at new ways to train their staff in order to utilise the funding available, and providers are responding in kind. Research by Investors in People reveals that poor leadership and management is costing the UK £84bn in lost productivity every year. UK businesses will struggle to perform to their potential if their staff have not been trained in how to lead, or helped to develop the skills they need to manage the tasks of others. New employer-designed degree apprenticeships offer such training opportunities.
