The conference has been organised by the University’s Centre for Applied Socio-Legal Studies (CASLS) from the University’s School of Social Sciences & Law, and will take place from 9am-4.30pm in Room A 200.7, First Floor, Clarendon Building, in the heart of the Middlesbrough-based University.
CASLS launched the UK’s very first University course for Coroners Officers in 2000. Psychologists and a pathologist provide input to the two-week course, which explores law and procedures, the impact of Human Rights legislation and grief management.
Colin Dunnighan, Director of CASLS said: “As Teesside was the first UK University to develop a Coroners Officers course, it’s appropriate that we hosting the Coroners’ Officers conference for the first time. We’re expecting 40 delegates from around the country.”
