Any interested media can come along to the Main Reception in the Middlesbrough Tower (off Borough Road) at the University of Teesside. A representative from Science is Great will then escort them to around the event to photograph and/or film the children taking part in the hands-on science activities. Please call the Press Office on 01642 342015 prior to arrival to ensure an escort is made available.
The Science is Great week includes the Forces Science Show (a show hosted by Cardiff-based Techniquest, the UK’s leading science discovery centre), the Starlab Planetarium (a discovery of stars, constellations and planets) and 12 hands-on exhibitions, also from Techniquest. It will be attended by 500 Cub Scouts and Brownies, 3,000 local school children aged 7 to 11 years old and up to 750 members of the public throughout the week, from Monday 16 – Sunday 22 June.
