MSc In Nursing Studies with Licence To Practise Adult Nursing

The University of Teesside’s School of Health & Social Care has launched a new Masters degree in Nursing Studies with the first students set to enrol in February 2004. Applicants should hold a first degree minimum (2.2) and those whose first language is not English will be required to provide evidence that they can meet the requirements of the programme.

Students will receive a Department of Health & Social Care means tested bursary, with fees paid through the County Durham & Tees Valley Workforce Confederation. Successful graduates of the MSc will meet the Nursing & Midwifery Council competencies for entry to the Professional Register.

The three-year full time programme provides students with a professional education that will enable them to work in the field of adult nursing. Placement learning will comprise 50% of the programme in a variety of clinical environments. The main programme themes include: competency development, clinical governance, leadership, public health.

Applicants may be exempted from part of the programme subject to previous study.
