Examining newborns at Teesside

26 March 2004

Assessing the health of newborn babies is an essential role for midwives, nurses and other medical staff and to help keep them up to date, the University of Teesside’s School of Health & Social Care is holding a special conference. The Examination of the Newborn conference will be held on Tuesday 6 April, 8.30am - 4pm, at the Centuria Building, off Victoria Road, Middlesbrough.

The conference will feature presentations from several health care specialists outlining topics such as the latest updates on examination techniques and legal implications as well as exploring specific case studies.

Alison McFadden, Senior Lecturer at the University’s School of Health & Social Care, said: “We have been running Examination of the Newborn course to train midwives to undertake examination of newborn babies since 1999. It’s popular and one of the few opportunities for Health Professionals to update their knowledge in this subject area. We have planned this conference as a means for those who work with newborn babies to meet, swap information and to learn from some leading practitioners in the field.”

For further information or an application form to attend this conference please contact Conference Administrator Rachel Casey on 01642 384520 or email: r.casey@tees.ac.uk

There is a conference fee of £30 per delegate.
