Teesside opens door to success

The first in a series of inspirational and motivational talks will be held at the University of Teesside on Wednesday 27 October 2004, from 1:30pm to 4:30pm.

Although primarily aimed at women, the event is open to all and features speakers who will talk about their own experiences in the workplace and what it took for them to open the doors to success. The event will also provide an insight into the work of Opportunity Now and NELAWN (North East Local Academic Women’s Network).

It will be of particular interest to women’s groups in the region.  

Speakers include:

Professor Leni Oglesby, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) of the University of Teesside Professor Oglesby will welcome guests to the event and talk about the challenges and choices she has faced in her career

Ginnie Willis, Director of Training & Development at the University of Stirling Thought provoking questions and exercises designed to encourage guests to re-assess personal and professional limitations, barriers and goals

Julie Ashdown, Account Manager with Opportunity Now Under the title of 'Sunrise over the Hudson' Julie will discuss how a grammar schoolgirl became a senior negotiator at the UN for the UK
