He gained his place at Teesside through the post 'A' level clearing process. Rishew first became interested in Art & Design when he started High School at the age of 13. He said: "When I visited Teesside I liked the facilities, such as the Learning Resource Centre (LRC). I particularly enjoyed designing book and magazine spreads and also developed my computer skills. I surprised myself with the standard of work achieved by my final year, I thought crickey have I really reached that sort of level? The degree has really opened up my options."
Rishew's final year project was a book design entitled 'Urban Decay', which explored images of decay in the region. He is currently updating his design portfolio to present to companies nation-wide and is considering a career in graphic design or publishing.
