A land of Fake Believe

21 November 2005

A trio of University of Teesside graduates will be celebrating their achievements when they graduate today. However, they will not be saying goodbye to each other as they have formed their own business.

The entrepreneurial trio decided to set up their own company, Fake Believe, during their optional placement year. The company creates computer-generated 3D visualisations for sales promotions, television broadcast companies and educational CD-Rom packages. Projects created so far, include a 3D representation of Middlesbrough Football Club’s Riverside Stadium to show its inner-workings, a virtual ‘fly-over’ of Beijing for a cable TV channel and a virtual tour of a new conferencing facility in the Middle East.

Matt Sibley, 22, from Stockton-on-Tees, studied the BSc (Hons) Computer Animation degree, while both Richard Himsworth, 24, from Loftus, and Sara Waters, 24, from Middlesbrough, studied the BSc (Hons) Creative Visualisation course.

Fake Believe was formed with the assistance of the University’s Graduate Enterprise Scheme, which provides advice and guidance to fledgling graduate firms, as well as supplying a suitable business premises at a reduced rent.
