Free talk explores women in art

26 April 2006

The representation of women painting will be explored in a free, public lecture at the University of Teesside. The lecture, entitled Imaging Women, will be delivered by Professor Gerda Roper on Wednesday 17 May, from 6.30pm – 7.45pm at the Centuria Building (off Victoria Road, Middlesbrough).

Professor Roper is the Dean of the University’s School of Arts & Media. A trained fine artist, Professor Roper started her lecturing career in the mid-1970s and has painted throughout that time. She will use examples of her own work during the lecture and there will also be an opportunity to ask questions at the end.

Refreshments will be available from 6.00pm. Seats will be allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis and booking is advised.
