Nursing is top at Teesside

Nursing students at Teesside are the most satisfied in England, according to official figures released today.

And students studying Design, Law and subjects allied to Medicine at Teesside gave their University a top four position in the country for student satisfaction, according to the National Student Survey 2007.

In the North East, Teesside was once again top for satisfaction among the modern universities.

Teesside’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Graham Henderson, said: “This is an excellent result. We take the views of our students very seriously and we’re absolutely delighted to have done even better than last year in this nationwide survey.”

The results show that 81% of Teesside degree students are either satisfied, or very satisfied, with their courses compared with 79% in the 2006 National Student Survey.

Among the region’s universities, Teesside was top for Assessment and Feedback; joint top with Durham for Learning Resources and gained a pole position for Personal Development. It was in the top two for ‘Academic Support’.

The most satisfied students at Teesside were studying Law and History, with 95% and 94% respectively saying they were satisified with the quality of their course.
