The poll, commissioned by for the first time by The Times Higher Education Supplement (dated 7 December 2007), surveyed more than 22,000 full-time undergraduates across the UK. Teesside was the top scoring modern university in the country and joint 15th overall in the poll. In the North East, Teesside and Durham were joint top universities.
Students at 106 higher education institutions were included in the survey. Undergraduates rated their universities and colleges of higher education on 21 diverse categories chosen by the students themselves.
