Expert will explore approaches to Attention Deficit Disorder

The medical condition Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) will be explored at the University of Teesside on Monday 2 October, in a seminar and workshop presented by internationally renowned expert David Stein, a practising clinical psychologist, and Professor of Psychology at Longwood College, Virginia, USA.

Professor Stein’s research and writing focus upon the diagnosis and treatment of attention, behaviour, and motivation problems in children, and for over 25 years he has conducted workshops, which provide realistic and effective alternatives to prescribed drugs. He is also the author of ‘Talking Back to Ritalin.’

The event starts at 12 noon with Professor Stein presenting a seminar, ‘Evidence based approaches to ADHD/ADD treatment’, costing £10 plus VAT. This will be followed by a separate workshop, from 1-4pm, entitled ‘Care givers skills programme for ADHD’, costing £50 plus VAT. Both the seminar and the workshop will be held in the University of Teesside’s School of Social Sciences, Main Lecture Theatre, Room 1.061, First Floor, Clarendon Building, Middlesbrough.
