Free Workshop for Creative Businesses

11 March 2008

People running creative businesses across the North East are being invited to attend a free workshop focusing on the role of branding in business development.

The free event is the latest in DigitalCity Innovation’s series of workshops which aim to help creative businesses grow and develop in the North East.

Based at the University of Teesside’s Phoenix Building, within the Institute of Digital Innovation, DigitalCity offers state-of-the-art facilities and mentoring as well as free workshops hosted by some of the creative sectors’ leading names.

This latest workshop, which is being held on Friday March 14 from 9.30am until 1.00pm, will look at why branding plays such an important role in a business’s development and will explain how brands can be developed and manipulated to appeal to a customer or client.

DigitalCity is a multi-million pound regeneration project, supported by One NorthEast and the University of Teesside, and works with new and growing businesses in the creative industries.

Scott Watson, Enterprise Co-ordinator for DigitalCity, commented: ‘The workshops we’re running are really popular. We’ve been speaking with local companies to find out what they need to help them grow and develop successfully. Marketing and branding are areas that many people find confusing so we have put together a specialist workshop to help companies understand how successful branding can really boost their business.’

The workshop, which is being delivered by Ian Bousfield of IS-Design and Chris Shaw from Pink Elephant PR, will be held at the University of Teesside’s Institute of Digital Innovation/Phoenix Building from 9.30am until 1.00pm on Friday March 14. Places are limited so to reserve a place or for more information call Jude Wilkinson on 01642 384330 or email jude@thedigitalcity.org.
