Success for graphics students

28 March 2008

Five graphics students have been successful in the International Society of Typographic Designers Student Assessment Scheme.

Emily Breakell achieved a Merit and also successful were: Kate Gray, Melanie Peters, Gemma Priestley and Elly Taylor.

The ISTD ‘establishes and maintains typographic standards within the professional design and education communities. It promotes the highest quality of contemporary practice amongst its international membership.’

Barbara Usherwood, head of the design section in the School of Arts & Media says: ‘This high success rate is an outstanding achievement for us and we are especially pleased about Emily's Merit grading. The ISTD scheme is an extremely rigorous assessment so congratulations go to all the students and the typography tutors Sue Peace and Kate Sill.’
