The QS Stars rating system, seen as a global benchmark of excellence, evaluates institutions across a range of performance indicators including teaching quality, facilities, research and global engagement.

Teesside University was awarded 5-Stars across the categories of Global Engagement, Environmental Impact, Good Governance, Employability, Diversity, Teaching, Facilities, and Equity and Inclusion.

This latest accolade adds to a growing list of the University’s awards and achievements in recognition of its commitment to student success, innovation in teaching, and delivering an exceptional educational experience.

Teesside University was named University of the Year 2025 by Times Higher Education, along with Modern University of the Year 2026 in the Daily Mail University Guide.

In addition, the University achieved Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023, highlighting outstanding student outcomes and teaching quality.

Achieving this globally recognised 5-Star QS rating reflects our reputation for outstanding teaching, strong industry links and continued commitment to inclusion, sustainability and global engagement.
