New five-star QS rating for Teesside University

Teesside University has been awarded 5 Stars in the internationally recognised QS Stars rating which highlights best practice in higher education.

The QS Stars rating system, seen as a global benchmark of excellence, evaluates institutions across a range of performance indicators including teaching quality, facilities, research and global engagement.

Teesside University was awarded 5-Stars across the categories of Global Engagement, Environmental Impact, Good Governance, Employability, Diversity, Teaching, Facilities, and Equity and Inclusion.

This latest accolade adds to a growing list of the University’s awards and achievements in recognition of its commitment to student success, innovation in teaching, and delivering an exceptional educational experience.

Teesside University was named University of the Year 2025 by Times Higher Education, along with Modern University of the Year 2026 in the Daily Mail University Guide.

In addition, the University achieved Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023, highlighting outstanding student outcomes and teaching quality.

Teesside University positions itself as an international university with a global network of partnerships, attracting students and staff from across the world.

The QS Stars system is designed to provide a broad picture of university performance, giving prospective students a detailed insight into what institutions offer beyond academic reputation.?
