Searching for women entrepreneurs

01 June 2008

Businesswomen who are front runners in their field have the chance to boost their success by entering a prestigious annual competition.

Nominations are now being sought for the 2008 North East Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.

And the University of Teesside has given its backing to the event by sponsoring the Woman in Technology or Innovation category.

In all there are nine categories in the North East Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, which are designed for women who have set up or taken over an independently owned business. The aim is to award women who are entrepreneurs, rather than women who are managers.

The 2008 North East Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards were launched at the end of May and the closing date for entries is Friday 19 September.

Shortlisting for the awards will take place during the first week of October, with final judging two weeks later. The winners will be announced with an awards presentation and dinner on Friday 21 November.
