Creative Craig clinches First Class honours

18 November 2008

Craig Duncan has launched his career in multimedia with the company where he spent time on placement during his degree studies.

He graduates today with a First Class Honours BA (Hons) Creative Multimedia.

Craig, 23, from Stockton, came to the University after completing a National Diploma in Multimedia at Cleveland College of Art and Design.

“What I most enjoyed at Teesside was being able to interact with tutors with industry experience, while being able to make us of the new and exciting multimedia facilities.

“I decided to study this course at Teesside, as after studying art and design at college it was the natural progression and the creative nature of the degree course appealed to me, while also allowing me to combine this with new technology.

He added: “The course involved modules which were marked by in-course assessments based on a variety of subjects, such as digital drawing, web animation and advanced multimedia applications.”

During his degree Craig spent a year on placement with e-learning company Dynamic Distance Learning, at Kirkleatham Business Park, Redcar. He now works for the company as a multimedia developer.

“My main elements of my job with Dynamic Distance Learning are design related. I work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to produce interactive and user focused software for a number of high profile clients.

“The degree course at Teesside gave me the foundations on which to build my skills, confidence and abilities to gain employment as a multimedia developer.”

He added: “Teesside has all the elements of a great place to study, it has great resources and support. It’s a place which will be very much enjoyed by all those who decide to study there.”
