Challenge to end child poverty – free lecture

Child poverty is the focus of a free public lecture to be given by Professor Martin Narey at the University.

Middlesbrough born Professor Narey is Chief Executive of Barnardo’s and Chairs the End Child Poverty Coalition.

In his lecture Martin will argue that there is an urgent economic and moral case for us to eradicate child poverty both in Teesside and in the wider UK.

Professor Narey, Doctor of Laws, was awarded an honorary degree from the University in 2007.

His public lecture Child Poverty – a challenge for the UK a challenge for Teesside can be heard from 6.30pm to 7.45pm on Wednesday 4 February in the Centuria Building.
